Director of Eligibility & Authorizations is responsible for leading and planning the Authorization division of the Revenue Cycle operations for a 50
person department in a corporate office with staff across multiple states and time zones; designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures; ensuring the most effective systems are in place for successful execution of the revenue cycle strategy; streamlining effective authorization processes across multiple markets; and managing by metrics. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the division to ensure industry-leading results. Essential Functions of Position Lead the Authorization team to ensure that the organization can submit accurate claims and collections in accordance with all third party contract terms including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, commercial insurance and direct patient pay. Maintain and enhance Authorization policies and procedures and ensure staff adherence to policies. Maximize the use of integrated systems to effectively automate the eligibility, benefits and authorizations process. Work with others on the Revenue Cycle leadership team to maintain compliance with all Medicare, Medicaid, State and Federal Regulation, and NAHC standards and ACHC standards. Collaborate with senior management in the development and analysis of performance metrics to ensure division operations support the achievement of the company's strategic goals and objectives. Monitor the review of medical records and documentation related to Medicare, Medicaid and affiliated Managed Care Organizations for proper authorizations. Ensure consistent quality of the billing authorization process by distributing and assigning duties and responsibilities to employees, ensuring skill levels are appropriate to the assigned tasks and monitoring the division's productivity. Manage and communicate with the team on the appeal process related to authorization denials. Work with the field staff on obtaining all documentation necessary for proper authorizations Prepare detailed analyses and reports of billing authorization activities and results. Requires continuous improvement in the revenue cycle related to eligibility and authorizations. Manage field operations' problem escalation and customer service relating to billing authorizations. Assist with the implementation of all new billing authorization systems for acquired companies. Effectively interact with all departments including Operations and Business Development. Provide mentoring, coaching and performance reviews for all direct reports. Manage team operations, including hiring, orientation, training, development, coaching, corrective actions, and ongoing monitoring of all staff work-related activities. Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Healthcare Administration/Management preferred Three years of Home Health or Hospice experience Experience with Homecare-Homebase billing system preferred Advanced Microsoft Office skills HomeCare-HomeBase preferred This role requires full COVID-19 vaccination Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
